Description
A parody of a Sergeant-Major; he is knock-kneed, and his moustache is improbably wide, so much so that it matches the diameter of his slouch hat. His open mouth, which is issuing the order 'Shun!' (attention) is coloured a grotesque cherry pink, as is his nose. The artist's given name was Vasco Loureiro but he enlisted as Louis Vasco and has signed his name 'Vasco', 'Spr Vasco'.
