[Gallipoli landscape]
Description
Gallipoli landscape. The landscape has been drawn using black crayon and textile rubbing technique. The landscape is textured and appears scarred and ravaged through the use of Nolan's rubbing technique. Nolan had visited museums in Athens and seen many Ancient Greek sculptures and artefats. The rubbing seems to refer to the style of hieroglyphic bas-relief sculpture.
