[Horse]
Description
Horse at Gallipoli which has been scraped out from pinkish brown paint with the artists finger. The work refers to links between Anzacs and Homeric soldiers. Nolan stated (interview 13 April 1978) that horses in the 'Gallipoli' series relate to Homeric mythology rather than the actual Gallipoli story - the Homeric soldiers were horse breakers.
