Willem C ("Wim") Kan; verso: Two head studies (one inverted)
Description
Right profile portrait of a man; abstract pencil sketch lower right corner. One of the prisoners at Nakom Paton was a Dutch humorist and actor, Willem Kan, nicknamed 'Wim'. Kan wrote five plays in the prison camp; they were performed first in Dutch and then in English. Chalker played roles in two of the Dutch productions, as well as in the English versions. Verso: upper image: head study; lower image: inverted right profile head study of man with moustache, wearing hat and glasses.
