Description

Depicts a camp made wheelbarrow. The artist was taken prisoner by the Germans (probably on Greece) in 1941. He was held in captivity at Oflag 7B, in Eichstatt, Germany, and returned to Australia in 1945. The camp, Oflag 7B, was located in Bavaria in southern Germany, just north of Munich and south of Nuremberg. Inmates were made up of officers from the Allied nations and conditions in the camp were relatively comfortable. The camp POWs were allowed to receive Red Cross packages.
