Description
This is a small poster designed to alert people to the danger of shelling in Poperinghe, which was one of the few free towns under Allied control in Belgium. However, it endured frequent artillery bombardment. This notice urges residents and soldiers to ensure that light from windows are concealed at night so that they are protected from random shelling. The poster was collected by Major Charles L. Mason, MC., of the Royal Engineers British Army during the course of the war.
