Save Fuel for Battle: Go Easy on the Heat
Description
British Second World War poster promoting fuel savings. This poster is one of the 'save fuel for battle' series. With the cost of the war mounting as the years passed, the British Government promoted domestic saving to provide more support for front line action. Many of these 'savings' posters associate home activities with front line activities, underscoring the concept of 'total war'. The poster is divided into four section each featuring a mini posters. Each has a graphic in the centre (radiator; gas fire; running hot water tap and electric light switch) surrounded by text advising ways to save fuel. These posters are set against a turquoise green background with the main title beneath.
