Description

British Second World War cautionary poster by Abram Games warns of the danger of careless talk. The poster depicts a man's head with mouth circled, soldiers lie dead below, a result of the man's careless talk. Abram Games (1914-1996) was one of the most influential graphic designers of the twentieth century. In a career spanning six decades, he designed posters and advertising for clients such as Shell, Guinness, British Airways and the United Nations. In describing his role as a poster artist, he said, 'I wind the spring and the public, in looking at the poster, will have that spring released in its mind.'
