German Cruelty to British Prisoners
Description
Text based British poster. There is no image. The text is framed by a red and brown border, and the writing is also red or brown ink. The title runs from the upper left corner to to the upper right corner and is printed in red ink. The text draws attention to alleged human rights abuses committed by Germans against British prisoners of war. Kitchener (also known as Kitchener of Khartoum because of his involvement in the final Sudanese campaign), compares the brutality of the Germans with 'the same barbarous savagery as the Sudan Dervishes.'
