The veteran's farewell
Description
A British recruiting poster depicting a Chelsea pensioner, in uniform, shaking the hand of a young soldier in uniform while enlistees march behind an officer in the background. The poster is accompanied by the text "Good Bye, lad. I only wish I were young enough to go with you! ENLIST NOW!". This form of propaganda was highly effective as it instilled a sense of pride in the younger men for enlisting in the British Army.
