U.S. Marines: another notch Chateau Thierry
Description
First World War recruitment poster one of 5 designed for the U.S. Marines by artists working for the Division of Pictorial Publicity. It features a three quarter length portrait of a smiling marine cutting another notch into the butt of his rifle. In the upper right is text printed in gold ' Another notch Chateau Thierry'. Beneath the soldier printed in black ink are the words 'U.S. Marines'. Both the image an text are set against a white background.
