Description

The grave of Lieutenant Harold Alexander Letch, MC, No 1 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps at Ramleh Military Cemetery. Lieutenant Letch, aged 24, was killed in action in an air battle over Palestine on 22 August 1918 when his Bristol fighter was hit by an incendiary bullet. From Hampton, Vic, he had won his MC for conspicuous gallantry at the Battle of Gaza on 19 April 1917, when he was a member of the 2nd Light Horse Regiment.
