Description

Ambulances waiting to take men injured on the transport ship HMT Southland, which was torpedoed in the Aegean Sea on 2 September 1915 when carrying Australian troops of the 21st Infantry Battalion, among others, to the Gallipoli Peninsula. The survivors were taken aboard the hospital ship Neuralia.
