Group portrait of three soldiers standing in a signaller's dugout at 1st Brigade Headquarters, at the head of a valley on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Identified left to right: Sergeant Major Hayner (of whom no record exists in the Nominal Roll); unidentified; possibly Lance Corporal John Norman Spencer, 3rd Battalion, who was killed in action between 7-12 August 1915, his exact date of death is not known.
