Troops and officers crowd the decks of the transport SS Derfflinger on the evening before the landing at Anzac Cove. Standing at the top of the gangway leading down to the well deck, with papers in his hands, is Lieutenant Colonel Robert Haylock Owen, Commanding Officer of the 3rd Battalion, who has just finished giving an address to the men.
