Description

Informal group portrait of nine officers in the anteroom of the officers' mess at Westham Camp, No 2 Australian Command Depot, on the southern coast of England. Identified left to right: possibly Captain David Leslie Todd; Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Arthur James Dayas, 3rd Battalion; Lt Kenneth Grant Jacob, who was killed in action on 30 May 1918; Capt Archibald Jamieson Dunn, Australian Army Medical Corps; Capt Hector Roy Heming or Captain Leslie Duncan Heming, who was killed in action on 8 August 1915, 3rd Brigade; 2nd Lt Henry Arthur Jones, 2nd Battalion; Lt Thomas Spencer Howard, 8th Light Horse Regiment, who was killed in action on 7 August 1915; and Lt Oliver Hogue (seated), later died of influenza 3 March 1919.
