Description
A group of unidentified allied officers, some of whom appear to be from the French and British armies, at the ruins of Contalmaison Chateau. Before the building was destroyed by shell fire, an Australian Advanced Dressing Station was established in the chateau's chapel during the fighting at Pozieres and Mouquet Farm in July 1916. (Copied from a French postcard.)
