Outdoor group portrait of ten soldiers, mainly drivers of the 10th Field Company Australian Engineers near Desvres, France. Standing in the back row, from left to right are: Lance Corporal (L Cpl) Greenwood, Australian Army Medical Corps (possibly 12309 Harold John Greenwood from Melbourne, Victoria); 10981 Sapper Donald Rose Fraser from Ballan, Victoria; and 10295 Driver (Dvr) William Prosser Martin MSM from Mirboo, Victoria. Seated from left to right are: 10289 Dvr Charles Robert Lewis from West Brunswick, Victoria; 10180 L Cpl Joseph Ernest Purdey from Tongala, Victoria (later awarded MM and died of wounds in France on 13 October 1917); (the next two are brothers but positions unknown) 10374 Dvr Robert Butler Websdale and 10375 Dvr Patrick Martin Websdale from Tabberabera, Victoria; 10236 Dvr Percy Wilson Dyke from Mirboo North, Victoria; 10979 Dvr Albert Evans from Corryong, Victoria and 10346 Dvr George Charles Smith from Mirboo, Victoria.
