After the First World War, St Barbe Baker studied forestry and became an internationally known forester who formed the worldwide society 'The Men of the Trees' The society was responsible for planting 27 million trees worldwide and raising awareness of the necessity to conserve and plant forests, for which work he was awarded an OBE.
