Awarded to V143353 Lance Corporal Percy George Colton Smith. On 21 March 1941 he enlisted at Echuca, Victoria, as a private with 9 Garrison Battalion.His regimental number was V9207. On 22 October of that year he is recorded as enlisting and serving with Australian Armoured Fighting Vehicles School. He was discharged on 8 December 1944. Born at Glass House Mountain, Queensland on 11 December 1898 Smith had previously enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 7 July 1917. He served overseas with 3 Machine Gun Battalion with the service number 2042 and the rank of Extra Regimental Sergeant.
