Description
Studio portrait of 2829 Private (Pte) Arthur Henry Walker (left) and his brother 2830 Pte Frank Walker (right), both of the 6th reinforcements to the 21st Battalion. The brothers, both from Willaura Vic, embarked on HMAT Moldavia from Port Melbourne on 5 October 1915 with the 21st Bn but were later transferred to the 7th Bn. Pte Arthur Walker,a plumber by trade, was killed in action in France on 27 July 1916 and has no known grave. Pte Frank Walker, a saddler before the war, was wounded in action (fractured femur) on 9th August 1918 and returned to Australia on 23 March 1919. See also DA11231.
