Studio portrait of three soldiers. Identified as probably: 2927 Sergeant (Sgt) Melvin John Saint, 21st Reinforcements, 3rd Light Horse Regiment, of Crystal Brook, SA, aged 26 years; 6948 Private (Pte) Robert Ingles, 23rd Reinforcements, 12th Battalion, of Devonport, Tas, aged 33 years; and 1916 Pte William Martin Simms, 5th Reinforcements, 12th Battalion, of Penwortham, SA, aged 19 years. Sgt Saint enlisted on 24 February 1916 and embarked from Adelaide aboard HMAT Mooltan on 24 August 1916. He returned to Australia on 15 May 1919. Pte Ingles enlisted on 31 July 1916 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Persic on 22 December 1916. He returned to Australia on 31 January 1918. Pte Simms enlisted on 14 January 1915 and embarked from Adelaide aboard HMAT Hororata on 20 April 1915. He returned to Australia on 13 February 1917.
