Collection relating to the service of NX13984 Private Eugene Tierney, 2/6 Field Regiment, 1940-1941. Collection comprises a handwritten diary detailing activities on the voyage on HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Perth including leave and a Father Neptune ceremony after passing the equator; purchasing souvenirs in Colombo, impressions of the Suez Canal, Port Said, Haifa, digging air-raid shelters, inspections carried out by Lt Generals Sturdee and Blamey, guard duty, receiving letters from family and air raids over Tel Aviv.
