Folder 1 of 2 consists of two log books of Warrant Officer Roberts. The first log book contains entries dated between 22 October 1943 and 6 July 1944. This log book contains details of Warrant Officer Roberts’ sessions in link trainers and Avro Anson aircraft while he was undergoing his navigation training, and includes the results of training exercises. The second log book contains entries dated between 14 September 1943 and 27 August 1945. This log book covers Warrant Officer Roberts’ training as a navigator in Canada and England, and service with 462 Squadron, based in England. This log book records details such as dates and times of flights, aircraft types and numbers, names of pilots, and purposes of flights. Some of the recorded purposes of flights include navigation training, advanced flying training, operational training, aircraft conversion, and bombing operations on strategic targets in Germany.
