Description

Australian Second World War poster issued by the Department of Home Security, Camouflage Research Section, Canberra. Designed by Frank Hinder. The lower half of the poster features an army camp in black and white out in a clearing. The camp includes a tent, truck etc. Each object has a large shadow. Superimposed over the top of the camp is a large blue bomb the tail of which has the title text written on it. The image and text are integrated. Hinder used this design to produce several posters for the Camouflage Research Section (see ARTV08977). This poster is a cautionary one warning that pilots can see shadows even if camouflage is used.
