Description
An unidentified UH-1H ‘Huey’ Iroquois helicopter loader at Honiara International Airport. To his left are Iroquois helicopter A2-508, and an RAAF Lockheed C-130J ‘Hercules’ transport aircraft. A detachment of four Australian Iroquois helicopters was deployed to the Solomon Islands under Operation Anode, Australia’s military contribution to the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI). They worked closely with New Zealand Iroquois helicopters from No. 3 Squadron, RNZAF, to provide transport, reconnaissance, and medical evacuation support to RAMSI.
