Officer's Royal Artillery pattern full dress shoulder belt
Description
Officer's Royal Artillery pattern full dress shoulder belt. The curved black leather belt is covered with Royal Artillery pattern gold bullion lace. Each end turns in and is secured by brass studs. These ends would normally have gilded brass fittings holding an embroidered pouch in place, but all these are missing. The belt has an ornamental gilded brass buckle and slide, and a tip showing an exploding grenade within a wreath.
History / Summary
Unknown. This pattern of belt was also worn by officers serving in the permanent artillery in the Australian colonies until 1901.
