Description
Japanese Order of the Sacred Treasure, 8th Class, in its original lacquered wooden presentation box. The reverseof the medal is engraved with the characters 'order of the merit decoration', as is the box lid.
History / Summary
Associated with the service of QX59313 Corporal Wilfred Harlan Fogg of Brisbane, who enlisted on 15 November 1943 at Warwick, Queensland and served with 2/27 Battalion. Fogg was discharged on 25 June 1946. It is understood that he souvenired the medal and other items (see REL33120, 33122 and 33123) during service on Morotai. The Order of the Sacred Treasure can be awarded for long and meritorious service to both Japanese and foreigners.
