Description
Fast work by members of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) Special Investigation Branch (SIB), in collaboration with the Japanese police, brought about the seizure of a haul of many millions of yen worth of contraband drugs from the cellar of a house near Kure, Japan. The drugs include ‘Dihydro-Streptomycin Merck’, an antibiotic. Here Japanese police officers and an unidentified Australian Army sergeant, remove the contraband from the cellar. The owner of the house said he had built the cellar for an air-raid shelter for the next war. The contraband was smuggled into Japan from China and Korea.
