Two unidentified British nurses at the British Commonwealth General Hospital at Kure, Japan, make up a hospital bed. The nurse on the left is probably one of nine trained male nurses who have arrived with the British contingent. These nurses trained at the Queen’s Institute of District Nurses and all hold postgraduate diplomas. They are known as Queen’s Nurses. The sister on the left is a lieutenant.
