British Air Ministry 1930 Pattern khaki canvas flying suit
British Air Ministry 1930 pattern flying suit, made in one piece from heavy khaki canvas. The suit has a full zip fly front which runs from the righthand shoulder to the right side of the groin. There is a large horizontal entry pocket situated on the left breast. Inside this pocket is a smaller pocket with a press stud fastening.Two open topped cargo pockets are situated on the front of the upper legs. Both the sleeve and leg cuffs have zip fastened flys, and there is a zippered fly opening running vertically down the outer seam on each upper leg below the hip. The groin has a buttoned fly panel with a slit beneath. There is a buckled adjustment strap across the rear waist. The suit has a detachable fur lined collar attached with nine plastic buttons. The collar is stamped with a crown above the letters 'AM 1941'. The suit has a makers label stitched inside the left hand opening. The label reads 'GB 4600, SIZE NO 4, CON B 174184/40/CI (D)". Also written in ink on the label is 'CATHCART F.LT'and across the inside back with 'CATHCART'.
