Description
Punmanjom. Unidentified US Army soldier checks the numbers of United Nations (UN) prisoners of war, including Australians, in a small North Korean or Chinese ambulance (a Lubin51 or a GAZ51), during Operation Little. Other vehicles in the convoy are strung out to the right and towards the enemy lines in the distant hills. This photograph is one of a series taken by Australian Mr Douglas (Doug) Bushby in his capacity as a UN accredited War Correspondent. Mr Bushby devoted much of his time to missionary work amongst Korean refugees, orphans and North Korean and Chinese prisoners of war..
