Description
Punmanjom. A tight knit group of North Korean or Chinese negotiators (left) approaches the handover area during Operation Little Switch. A convoy of North Korean or Chinese ambulances (Lubin51 or GAZ51) carrying United Nations (UN) prisoners of war, including Australians, is being lined up at right and some of the prisoners are becoming brave enough to pull down the curtains that had concealed the landscape during their journey. This photograph is one of a series taken by Australian Mr Douglas (Doug) Bushby in his capacity as a UN accredited War Correspondent. Mr Bushby devoted much of his time to missionary work amongst Korean refugees, orphans and North Korean and Chinese prisoners of war.
