Description
Punmanjom. North Korean or Chinese nurses or doctors, UN military police (MPs) and Allied members of the reception group guide just released allied prisoners of war (POWs) wearing blue overcoats, from buses at left to UN reception tents (right). One POW (right foreground) has already been given a cigarette. They have been repatriated as part of Operation Little Switch at Punmanjom. This photograph is one of a series taken by Australian Mr Douglas (Doug) Bushby in his capacity as a UN accredited War Correspondent. Mr Bushby devoted much of his time to missionary work amongst Korean refugees, orphans and North Korean and Chinese prisoners of war.
