Service dress trousers : Victorian Field Artillery
Description
Dark blue straight legged wool twill trousers with wide red wool stripe extending down the side seams. Black plastic buttoned waist and fly. Small welt pocket at waist extends in a semi-circle above the waistband. Pocket lined with undyed cotton drill. Waistband lined with dyed calico, the lower seam of which prevents access to the lower section of the waist welt pocket. Fly lined with black glazed linen and fork with striped cotton twill. At the rounded trouser hem is a small strip of leather at each inside ankle section.

Trousers of a similar type to those worn by the Victorian Field Artillery in the 1890s.
