Description
A batch of mail from home arrives at A company Headquarters as a white Christmas builds up for the soldiers of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) in Korea. The snow-dusted bearer of this welcome bundle is Private (Pte) Donald Maxwell (Don) Palmer of Quirindi, NSW, on duty as a company runner. Before joining the army Pte Palmer worked as a shearer in the Quirindi district. The sign on the hut reads '66 O C HQ COY MAJ W D Jamieson'.
