Line maintenance is cold work for signalmen of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) in Korea, but communications are vital and must be kept open. Here Private (Pte) James William (Jim) Bennett of Rolands, WA, is repairing lines into 1RAR's forward control point. Before joining the Australian Army Pte Bennett worked in the Public Works Department at Rolands and played football in the Harvey District Association.
