Description

Laundry is a big item for the Australian Army during the steamy summer in Japan. Soldiers in Tokyo who are on leave from Korea are issued with a complete change of clothing every day. Here storeman 34672 Corporal (Cpl) George Lyall 'Mutt' Mutton, of Mansfield, Vic, checks a delivery from the laundry into the Ebisu Leave Unit Quartermasters' Store. The uniforms are being delivered by a Japanese worker. Cpl Mutton at one time worked in the Mansfield Post Office and played Australian Rules with the Mansfield club.
