Description

'Tom Smith' (right), a Korean radio mechanic employed by the Commonwealth forces in Korea, is assisting telegraphic mechanic 41041 Signalman John Desmond Dayman, of Kilburn, SA, to wire up a test panel. Tom Smith's real name is Ko Chang Ke. Sig Dayman has been in the army five years, of which two months have been spent in Korea with the Project Squadron detachment which installed equipment for the Commonwealth Contingent Korea. He had a previous tour of duty in Korea with the 1st an 2nd Battalions. The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR and 2RAR), in 1952 and 1953.
