Description
Australian Army Nursing Service cotton organza veil worn with working dress. The veil has a drawn threadwork hem and there are some brown markings on the fabric.
History / Summary
Associated with the service of Staff Nurse Violet Olive Wakley, born in Melbourne, Victoria. At the age of 26, Wakley departed Melbourne on board HMAT Karoola on 12 June 1918 and served in France and England with the Hospital Transport Corps. She was discharged from the Australian Army Nursing Service on 7 March 1919.
