Grave of 3039 Private (Pte) James Boyd, 7th Reinforcement, 41st Battalion, of Coorparoo, Qld. A clerk prior to enlisting on 25 October 1916, Boyd embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Wiltshire on 7 February 1917. He was killed on 22 August 1918 at Bray, France, aged 30 years. His uncle, 2207 Pte Andrew Nicholson, D Company, 4th Battalion, of Manly, NSW, also served and was killed in action on 25 July 1916, aged 42 years.
