History / Summary
Medals of S/7137 Ordinary Seaman Class 2 William James McLaughlin of Sydney, NSW, born 4 November 1924. McLaughlin enlisted on 19 October 1942 and after training saw service in HMAS Australia from 26 May to 30 August 1943 and from 19 December 1943 to 10 March 1944. He was discharged on 4 November 1944. McLaughlin's father-in-law was 935 Driver Reaford William Campbell, who served with 2 Battalion during the First World War.
