History / Summary
This handkerchief, an American produced souvenir of a copy of the front page of their troop serial 'Nippon Times' from September 1945, was produced in a wide variety of colours. It was a popular gift that was sent home by servicemen serving in the Pacifc area to their families. This example was given to Doris Collinge who worked in the Lysaght factory at Newcastle producing Owen Guns during the Second World War.
