Description
Artillery guard parade on board the HMAT Benalla at sea. Identified, fourth from left is 30297 Driver Frederick Keith Johnson, 5th Division Ammunition Column, Australian Field Artillery. A clerk of Summer Hill, NSW, he enlisted on 1 August 1916 and embarked on the HMAT Benalla with the 8th Reinforcements. He died of sickness at sea, off Sierra Leone, on 11 December 1916, aged 18.
