Description

A group of veterans and their wives at the Sphinx and Pyramids; some veterans are wearing fez caps. They are members of an RSL-RSA Gallipoli Pilgrimage on the 50th Anniversary of the 25 April 1915 landing. During the First World War 494 Lewis David Price served with the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance and during the Second World War he served with the rank of major with Headquarters 7th Australian Division. He was one of the veterans who returned to Gallipoli. The men and their wives are replicating what thousands of Australian soldiers did during the First World War, having their photograph taken in front of the Pyramids or the Sphinx.
