Description

Members of a Turkish Army guard in 1915-type uniforms line up to welcome Australian veterans and their wives, members of an RSL-RSA Gallipoli Pilgrimage who had travelled back to Turkey in 1965 to take part in commemoration events for the 50th Anniversary of the 25 April landing on Gallipoli. During the First World War 494 Lewis David Price served with the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance and during the Second World War he served with the rank of major with Headquarters 7th Australian Division.He was one of the veterans who returned to Gallipoli.
