Description
Home movies in Vietnam relating to the service of O2026 Lieutenant (later Commander) Ian Maxwell (Max) Speedy DSC RANR. Lt Speedy served as part of the Experimental Military Unit (EMU), a joint Australian-American company-sized helicopter assault force composed of the 135th Assault Helicopter Company (135th AHC), United States Army and the 2nd Contingent, RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam (RANHFV). Throughout their service in Vietnam members of RANHFV provided tactical airlift and gunship support for Australian and allied ground forces. Footage includes local village scenes; construction and general layout of grounds and facilities at the USAF base; in flight footage; American artillery; aircraft maintenance and arming.
