A painting from the artist's series 'Falling Leaves'. It is one of 14 botanical collages combining quotations from the artist's grandfather's diary, Richard Churchill, who served during the Second World War in New Guinea, 1943-44, with Australian native vegetation. In this work seventeen 'Eucalyptus diversifolia' leaves are stitched on to the canvas with an excerpt from her grandfather's diary which makes reference to the insects he observed on the ceiling of the tent in the New Guinea jungle, comparing the insects in size to Lancaster aeroplanes.
