Description
216502 Corporal Douglas Thomas Lennox, vehicle commander, standing in the turret of an M113A1 armoured personnel carrier (APC) with the call sign three one Alpha (31A), A or B Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Royal Australian Armoured Corps, moving through thick jungle. There is a .50 calibre ammunition box, water bottle and row of different coloured smoke canisters attached around the rear of the T50 turret. A flak jacket or vest is draped over the turret hatch. The yellow shield shaped marking with the red kangaroo (right) is the insignia of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF). A second vehicle is also visible in the background (right).
