Description
Documents relating to the First World War service of 5871 Sapper John Patrick Delahunty, 2nd Tunnelling Company, Australian Engineers. Collection consists of diaries for 1918 and 1919; two field service postcards; a letter written from "somewhere in France", 31 August 1918, written on German message paper; a certificate of discharge for Delahunty; and two souvenirs - a folio from the "Vest Pocket Webster" with a key to pronunciation; and a YMCA memorial card to the 1st Australian Division men commemorated at the Anzac Memorial in France. Delahunty survived the war and returned to Australia in 1919.
